I have done some digging and it seems the mauve colors do provide for the best results. How can it work so well you ask? I have no idea! I am only a proud consumer. I took this little gem on a test drive this weekend for Valentine’s Day. After drinks, dinner, and dessert I will tell you the color was still present. Clearly not as vibrant as before 2 glasses of water, vino, appetizer, entree, and dessert; however, one touch up coat is all I needed for the entire evening. I typically reapply lipstick 3-4 times a night; no need with this new little wonder. The top of the tube can also double as a mini-mirror to help you stay within the lines just in case you do not have immediate access to a mirror. This product gets two thumbs up in my book.

My problem with any lip color is that I can't find a color that I really, really like. Maybe I will give this one a try.

The raisin might be slightly dark for you...but they have TONS of colors. You can lift the applicator slightly out and actually get a glimpse of what the color actually looks like.
